Could you provide Technical Leadership within our Engineering team, working with variation, uncertainty and at a pace with interesting businesses in the likes of the Medical, Aerospace and Agritech industries?

About Tharsus

We help businesses make progress by designing and building Strategic Machines. We are building our team and so are looking for another Technical Leader keen to develop our design engineers as we grow.

Throughout the business we pride ourselves on our culture. We work hard to make sure that our colleagues know what we stand for, where we are going and what we want to be.

Working here is fast paced & challenging and we want people to join our team who really want to be part of our continued growth.

We’re easy to get to, just off the spine road in Blyth, Northumberland.

What you’ll do:

  • This is a technical leadership role with responsibility for ensuring all products that Tharsus manufacture have the appropriate level of Mechanical innovation and engineering control in their inception
  • A core element of this is the demonstration of “appropriate practices” for design and engineering, and coaching and monitoring of the engineering team to ensure high standards are adopted and maintained
  • Provide authority to the delivery of “brilliant” solutions for commercially successful products by being diligent, yet creative, product and process focused
  • Working collaboratively with the Solutions Architecture, Sales and Project Management functions

We’d love you to have:

  • Significant and demonstrable experience leading and delivering a range of complex electromechanical products/systems/solutions in a position of authority
  • Significant and demonstrable experience of operating in a diverse range of industries/sectors leading work across electrical and control disciplines
  • A strong degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Charted Engineer or at equivalent experience and capability would be great but if you don’t have it don’t worry it’s not essential

In return you’ll get:

Opportunity to be an integral part of the growth of the business, ensuring that we have the best and most current standards of safety, engagement and efficiency in place.

Real, visible opportunities to grow in the role and within the business because of your success.
